T he Jaredian Design Group has provided comprehensive-land-use planning for the Government Employees’ Retirement System for a hundred-twenty acre parcel of undeveloped property in St. Thomas. The site is strategically located in the center of St. Thomas along the Weymouth Rhymer Highway. Market studies that were performed on the project recommended a mixed-use project that will include a 180-unit hotel, 40,000 square-foot conference center, 150,000 square feet of office/retail center, 150-senior-housing facility and 120 single-family residential lots. The design has taken advantage of the natural topography of the site and existing cultural resources to preserve almost 45% of the entire area as conservation.
